Each branch of the United States military has its own flag and have significant symbolism. The United States Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps each fly a particular standard representing the honor and tradition of their history.

The US Army flag is all white with yellow fringe. It is 4 feet 4 inches at the hoist by 5 feet 6 inches at the fly with the insignia of the Army in ultramarine blue. The Army symbol is a collection or armor, weapons and flags adapted from the seal of the Department of the Army. The Army motto, "This We All Defend" is above the insignia and below it is a red scroll with "United States Army" in white lettering. The year 1775 appears beneath the lettering, the birth date of the US Army flag when the Continental army was formed to rise up against the British Empire.

The flag for the United States Navy is 4 feet 4 inches hoist by 5 feet 6 inches fly. It was approved by Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1959. This flag features a dark blue background and features a slight variation of the US Navy Seal. The design features an American Bald Eagle, an anchor and a three mast ship flying the Commission Pennant, the American flag and commodore'™s flag. The design is surrounded by a yellow circular rope underneath which is written "United States Navy".

The US Air Force flag standard is also 4 feet 4 inches at the hoist and 5 feet 6 inches on the fly with yellow fringes. The flag features the Air Force coat of arms, thirteen white stars and the Air Force seal on an ultramarine blue background field. The thirteen stars represent the original thirteen colonies with a three star grouping at the top in honor of the Departments of the National Defense Establishment. The crest includes the American bald eagle, the cloud formation depicts the creation of a new firmament, and the wreath, composed of six alternate folds of silver and blue, incorporate the colors of the basic shield design.

The United States Marine Corp flag is scarlet with the Corps logo emblem in gray and gold. These colors were used as early as 1925 as the Marine Corp standard but it was not made official until January of 1939. The emblem is a design depicting an eagle, globe and anchor representing continuing service all over the world, the nation of the United States and the naval tradition of the Corps. Under the emblem is written, "United States Marine Corps" and across the top is the Marine motto, "Semper Fidelis" which translates to "Always Faithful"™.
